It can be tough enough finishing an album when a band's members are all in one area, let alone living all over the world. Such is the dilemma Early Winters faced while recording its debut. With all four members enjoying solo careers and scattered throughout the UK, Los Angeles, Toronto and Tokyo, the group turned to email and live video chat to help write and flesh out its material. The result is an album's worth of lush folk and dreamy indie pop that is surprisingly cohesive considering the methods with which it was arranged. Lead singer Carina Round possesses a beautifully intimate voice that works well with her band-mates tasteful and sparse contributions. Early Winters' members continue to write music together despite the tough circumstances, and have even managed to all get together to play live shows every now and then.
