Ell V Gore

Taking its cues from the campy punk rock of groups like The Cramps and The Misfits, Ell V Gore is a Toronto-based outfit that has defined itself as a loud, sweaty and irreverent rock and roll band. The group trades off between frenetic punk rock and slow, sludgy guitar riffs at will, though the quavering lead vocals tie its songs together with a characteristic vocal style that channels Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedy's. Underneath the pounding rhythms and overblown bass riffs, Ell V Core utilizes a shrill organ tone that lends the proceedings a distinctly circus-like vibe.
