Often called the UK's answer to Battles, Edinburgh-based trio Lady North creates equally experimental math rock, focused around sharply rhythmic instrumentals and dance punk-inspired arrangements. Formed in 2010, when its home city was obsessed with the plethora of alternative folk bands spilling over the Edinburgh music scene, Lady North immediately set itself apart by choosing to play a style of music very different from what was popular at the time. Despite the fact that Lady North doesn't use any vocals or lyrics in its music, it is still able to keep the listener's attention and has thus won over many publications and fans throughout the UK.
