Having met in 2008, Anneke Kampman and James Scott quickly developed a musical kinship that resulted in the formation of Conquering Animal Sound just a year later. The Glasgow-based duo creates delicately moody indie folk tunes driven by Kampman's subdued vocal delivery and combines them with a wealth of tasteful electronic flourishes. Gentle harp plucks and clean electric guitar share space with quiet drum loops and creative production techniques, as Conquering Animal Sound aims to inhabit a space between twee indie pop and attentive sonic playfulness. The group released its debut LP, Kammerspiel, in 2011.
