Falstaff

Guiseppe Verdi's comic opera Falstaff is based on the famed recurring Shakespearean character of the same name, who appears in the plays The Merry Wives of Windsor, Henry V and Henry IV. Hailed for its complexity of orchestration and gripping libretto, the opera uses scene from both The Merry Wives of Windsor and Henry IV to illustrate a living portrait of the iconic bumbling knight, Falstaff.
