Formed by a group of high school students whose former Americana roots rock band had broken up, The Heyday came about in the spring of 2006. Instead of focusing on playing shows, the five-piece decided to spend its time and energy on writing songs and perfecting its sound, which led to a demo that caught the attention of local producers who offered to help make the band's full length. The result has been a radio-friendly form of pop rock with a slight country twang and has aided the Denver-based band in building an impressive fan base.
