Known for being the front-man for the band Eagles of Death Metal, Jesse Hughes is Boots Electric. Hughes began making music with his long-time friend Josh Homme, undisputed leader of the group Queens of the Stone Age, when the two musicians formed the toung-in-cheek bar band Eagles of Death Metal in 1998. After 13 years with the band, Hughes took on his first solo project as Boots Electric. His sound takes on funk flavors and electronic undertones to go with his mastery of alternative/rock and roll, resulting in a mash-up of genres that is neither overdone nor over-produced. Boots Electric released his first album Honkey Kong, in 2011 with the help of co-writer Money Mark, who has worked with the Beastie Boys, and producer Tony Hoffer, who has done production work for Beck, Depech Mode and Belle & Sebastian.
