Whether maning the drums with Las Vegas-based group The Killers or writing solo material under his Big Talk guise, Ronnie Vannucci is a musical force to be reckoned with. Learning drums at a early age, planted strong rudimentary rhythms in young Vannucci and studying percussion at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas instilled a well rounded understanding and approach to playing the drums. Though rhythm was Vannucci's area of concentration, his skills as a songwriter and musician in general were also being fostered. After getting together with a few other Las Vegas musicians in 2001 and forming The Killers, the band ended up achieving monumental success. The group would go on to release two other albums and tour straight for the better part of six years, the group decided to take a bit of a hiatus. During this time, lead singer Brandon Flowers released a solo album. While it is fairly obvious that a lead singer would release a solo album during a band's hiatus, the same can not be said about the a group's drummer--which is why it came as a bit of a shock for some when Vannucci announced he was working on a record of his on and would release an album of original songs in 2011. The eponymously titled Big Talk showcased Vannucci's talent as a songwriter and his ability to craft anthamatic Americana tunes as well as his dynamic ability as a band leader, which was quickly made apparent during Big Talk's first few live shows.
