Best known as the bassist for indie rock band Vampire Weekend, unbeknownst to many, Chris Baio DJed throughout college before Vampire Weekend gained fame. Despite the busy schedule with his band, Baio also took up the turntables again, mixing and producing essentially a minimalist electro version of the Vampire Weekend style--catchy tracks with nods to tropical and African rhythms. Baio signed to the Greco-Roman label, run by Hot Chip, and released his first single in 2015 with guest vocals by tropical minimalist electro expert Matias Aguayo.
