The Flyers represent the 17 intercollegiate sports teams at the University of Dayton. All teams compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference of the NCAA Division I, with the exception of men's football and women's golf, who compete in the Pioneer Football League and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference respectively. The Dayton Flyers are well-known for their men's basketball teams, which have spawned several professional athletes including NBA players Hank Finkel, Negel Knight and Christ Wright.
