Utilizing elements of pop, soul and jazz music, Eden Brent is a blues vocalist and pianist who has earned critical acclaim for her boogie-woogie style of music. With an education centered on jazz and a musically-inclined family, Brent exudes natural talent through her lazy but lush playing style that she developed through a 16-year long apprenticeship with blue pioneer Boogaloo Ames. The two musicians and their unlikely friendship were featured in the 1999 documentary titled Boogaloo & Eden: Sustaining the Sound. Brent released her debut album Something Cool, in 2003 on her own label, which she named after the nickname Ames affectionately gave her, Little Boogaloo Records. After the release of her 2008 album Mississippi Number One, she won the 2009 Blues Music Awards for Acoustic Artist of the year and Acoustic Album of the Year.
