Julia Marcell is a Polish singer/songwriter based in Germany whose experimental brand of music often takes on indie pop, anti folk and downtempo sounds. After learning how to play piano in 2007, she quickly developed a voice and released her debut effort, the Storm EP, later the same year. She recorded a duet with cabaret singer Voltair titled "This Sea," which was featured on his album To the Bottom of the Sea. With the help of her fans, she raised 50 thousand dollars to record and produce her 2009 debut album It Might Like You. For her follow-up effort, the 2011 album June, Marcell began using rhythm in her compositions and utilizing electronic music makers to expand her sound.
