Cavity was a metal band from Miami that formed in 1992. The band incorporated doom metal and hardcore punk to create a brand of abrasive, distorted and high contrast music known as sludge metal. Cavity released its 1995 debut album Human Abjection, with City of Crime Records. With a reputation for putting on both engaging and dangerous live shows, the band shared the stage with other up and coming metal band such as The Refused, Frodus and High On Fire. With five full length albums, including its final effort On the Lam, released in 2001, Cavity disbanded in 2003 due to creative differences and commitment issues in the band.
