Daniel Balavoine

Daniel Balavoine (1952-1986) was a pop singer/songwriter from Orne, France who was incredibly popular throughout the French-speaking world as well as a renowned French political activist. His songs have been described as being full of sadness and revolt, traits that have often been celebrated in French culture, made more expressive by his uniquely powerful voice. His musical ability, combined with his good looks and charisma, served to transform Balavoine into a force of nature that would take the French music industry during the 1980s by storm. Although his life was cut short by a helicopter crash, Daniel Balavoine's legacy still lives on in the minds and souls of French-speaking peoples throughout the world.
