Despite never really amassing much commercial success during its existence as a band between 1976 and 1982, the British group This Heat has since been remembered as one of the more pioneering experimental bands of its generation. Comprised of a trio of multi-instrumentalists, This Heat was able to get some of its early material, that was recorded in one of the members parents house, played on the radio program that was hosted by the legendary DJ John Peel in 1977. After getting positive reception to its music, the trio started to record material that would make it on to its eponymously-titled debut 1978 album, an LP that was characterized by intense use of tape manipulation and avant-garde noise. For its later work, This Heat would venture on toward a more post punk sound, that was encapsulated on its best-known album Deciet, released in 1981.
