Being awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award is no easy feat. Given to "performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording" the award has been given to the likes of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and other notable music figures - amongst them Booker T. The ridiculously talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter first rose to fame in the 1970s with his R&B group Booker T and the MGs, but he achieved lasting success as a solo performer who's known for his energetic live sets.
