Shappi Khorsandi is a British comedian of Iranian decent who uses her brand of comedy to explore her mixed heritage. Tackling issues of class as well as a gamut of other topics in her self-deprecating, acerbic humor, she first came to notice in 1997 for her sharp tongue and sense of playfulness. In addition to her various television appearances throughout the late 2000s, including several appearances on Live At the Apollo, She has taken her one-woman shows to festivals across Europe and on tour to overseas audiences in Australia.
