Rosenstolz is a German pop duo from Berlin that combines elements of pop, rock and ballades. It consists of AnNa R. (real name: Andrea Natalie Rosenbaum, born 1969) and Peter Plate (born 1967), that founded the band back in 1991 in Berlin. As the band's career started relatively slow in the beginning, they had their first big success with the album Die Schlampen sind müde (engl.: The Bitches Are Tired) in 1997. After that, pretty much all their following seven albums went straight to #1 on the official German album charts. Since Peter Plate is a self-confessed homosexual and this topic is also often discussed in the lyrics, the band always had a big credibility in the gay community. On their live shows Rosenstolz is usual accompanied by a seven people band that has been quite consistent over the past years.
