The Cravats is a punk band that was formed in Redditch, England in 1977. After self-releasing its debut single "Gordon" in 1978 and then recording a live session with John Peel for BBC Radio 1, the band captured the attention of Small Wonder Records. After signing with the label, The Cravats released its debut album The Cravats In Toytown. Released in 1980, the album personified much of the classic punk elements that ruled England throughout the end of the 1970s. The Cravats took various hiatuses over the years as its member worked on other projects, but it never officially disbanded. The band continued to sporadically tour and release new music such as 2006's The Cravats - In the Land of the Giants.
