The Fall

Despite being one of the more prominent bands rock aficionados are privy to, the English post punk outfit The Fall never grabbed hold of a large listener base with its unique and ahead of its time sound. The group formed in 1977 on the heels of the punk movement and after a few prominent music journalists started lauding the band as one of the best groups to emerge out of the 70s, people started to take notice. Even with all the press attention, the band never achieved a mainstream following, probably because the group's sound was a bit too off-kilter and unrefined. However, The Fall has managed to age semi-gracefully and spend a fair bit of time on the road playing old tunes.
