John C. Reilly is an actor and comedian who has starred in various celebrated comedies and dramas since the the late 1980s. Making his film debut in the 1989 film Casualties of War, he made such an impression on director Brian De Palma that his initial minor role was expanded into a significant part of the story. Reilly went on to earn his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the 2002 film adaptation of Chicago, which was also nominated for best picture. Though he is perhaps best-known for his comedic roles in films like the parody biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, as well as his work with Will Ferrell, he is also widely regarded for his starring roles in Martin Scorsese's The Aviator. In addition to his acting career, Reilly has also performed and released some music, mostly with his band John Reilly & Friends.
