La Ruda

Formed in France as La Ruda Salska, La Ruda spent its first decade of existence as a ska band before shortening its name and adopting a rock mentality. The eight-piece band release its 1996 debut album Le prix du silence, and three other ska/salsa albums before dropping "Salska," a play on ska and salsa, from its name. Although La Ruda began producing indie rock music with its 2004 album 24 images/seconde, it held onto its brass instruments to maintain its buoyant and distinctly European sound.
