One of the most successful Swiss acts in history, Gotthard is a hard rock/heavy metal outfit that was founded in Lugano, Switzerland 1992. After releasing its self-titled debut in 1992, the band dropped nine consecutive number one albums on Swiss charts including 1996's G. and 2009's Need to Believe. Somehow managing to stay on top of the hard rock genre for over two decades, Gotthard released its tenth studio album Firebirth, in 2012, marking the band's first record without original front man Steve Lee, who passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2010.
