Paus is an experimental rock band from Portugal that released its debut EP, E Uma Agua, in 2010. Comprised of four ex-hardcore punks, the members of Paus create a rhythmically propulsive style of music, with subtle tropicalia undertones, electronica leanings and progressive rock instrumental overlays. Though the quartet's niche-y sound won't ever qualify them for mainstream success, Paus is nevertheless well regarded amongst fans of avant-garde indie rock material.
