Hailing from Toronto, the Canadian rock band Danko Jones has managed to find a fairly substantial fan base in Eastern European nations with its alternative rock sound. Often grouped with bands such as Nickleback, Three Doors Down and Creed, Danko Jones established its commercial sound in 2002 with the release of its first album, Born a Lion. The band embarked on a series of European tours in support of the album, collecting the beginnings of what would become rather rabid fan bases in countries like Germany, Poland and Austria. Though the band never achieved widespread attention and recognition in North America, with each passing tour and record from 2006's Sleep Is the Enemy, to 2012's Rock and Roll Is Black and Blue, Danko Jones has appeased and grown its audiences abroad.
