Gerwin Pardoel, also known by his stage name Gers Pardoel, is a Dutch rapper and pop artist who is known for his signature accent. In 2009, he rose to national fame with his contribution to The Opposites' single "Broodje Bakpao." However, it wasn't until the release of his 2011 album, Deze Wereld Is Van Jou, that he reached iconic status. The album's lead single, "Ik Neem Je Mee," spawned the most watched Dutch music video in history, and consequently, the record charted in the album top 100 for over a year. In 2014, his highly anticipated second album De Toekomst Is Van Ons, was released, preceded by the first single "Louise."
