Hailing from rural North Wales, Stephen Black is an indie singer/songwriter and musician who releases material under the moniker Sweet Baboo. With a sound that merges neo-psychedelia with folk and pop elements, he released his debut EP C'mon Let's Permoose, in 2004, but remained a hidden fixture in the underground scene until the 2010s. Sweet Baboo released his third studio album, I'm a Dancer / Songs about Sleeping, in 2011 to critical acclaim, capturing an audience with a distinctive dark but tender style of songwriting. After dropping his follow-up LP, Ships, in 2013, he embarked on his first headlining tour of the UK and subsequently garnered national attention.
