Islet is a Welsh four-piece of experimental indie rock musicians based out of Cardiff. Seemingly inspired by the pounding percussion, rhythmic shifts and loose freak-folk of early Animal Collective, as well as by noisy math rock, the group manages to retain a semblance of melodic structure in its songs to complement its quirkier, more psychedelic elements. Islet's 2010 debut album, Celebrate This Place, was met with positive reviews throughout the UK, and helped the band land slots at prominent music festivals, as well as a tour with popular indie pop group Los Campesinos!
