Levek is the experimental project of singer/songwriter David Levesque who demonstrated a multifaceted sound when he emerged in 2009. He exposed his a capella cover songs enhanced with tribal sounds and Disney music nostalgia on his 2009 demo, capturing the attention of an indie pop audience and music critics alike. After spending time around the coastal regions of Florida, Levesque further evolved his sound and recorded Levek's debut album with a group of close friends. Telling the story of a young girl with mental illness, the 2012 album Look A Little Closer is a tender tale about overcoming struggles with the help of family and friends. With a calculated mix of afrobeat, disco and bossanova rhythms, Levek offers a smooth yet funky album with soaring harmonies and few boundaries.
