Signed to the influential Stones Throw Records in 2011, Jonti has done well to uphold the experimental hip-hop and electronica ideals that the label was founded on. Like a sun-baked kaleidoscope, his music is a psychedelic hybrid that contains smatterings of fractured hip-hop beats, Beach Boys pop and breezy electronic loops. The Australian (via South Africa) multi-instrumentalist/producer/vocalist has already collaborated with a number of high-profile artists, including Santigold, Mark Ronson and Sean Lennon, but opted to work alone on Twirligig, his 2011 debut solo LP.
