Though Swedish band The (International) Noise Conspiracy doesn't necessarily have an extremely innovative sound, the group has managed to rise above the plethora of other modern rock outfits by interjecting lyrics centering around extreme left wing politics into its songs. Formed in 1998, around the same time that groups like The Strokes, The White Stripes and The Hives were all being met with commercial and critical acclaim, The (International) Noise Conspiracy is fairly popular in its home country (a quasi-socialist nation) and though their politics don't necessarily go over well with American audiences, some people living in the United States have managed to forge a special bond with the group's music.
