Uli Jon Roth

Uli Jon Roth is a German guitarist who, over a decades-long career, has largely helped invent and pioneer the neo-classical metal genre. Roth began his career in early 1973 with the fusion rock group called Dawn Road, but after the band broke up that same year, he went on to serve as lead guitarist with the popular German rock band the Scorpions. After leaving the group, Roth spent some time with the Electric Sun before opting to launch a solo career in 1987 with his debut LP, Sky Concerto.
