Ásgeir is a singer/songwriter and musician who emerged out of Reykjavik, Iceland with his debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn, in 2012. With lyrics entirely in Icelandic, the record performed successfully in his home country and after American artist John Grant helped with translations in English, the resulting singles "King and Cross" and "Going Home," earned Ásgeir a following across Europe and North America. He eventually released an English language version of his entire debut album, titled In the Silence, in 2013 with One Little Indian Records.
