The Salem Red Sox is an American minor league baseball team that competes in the Northern Division of the South Atlantic League. Founded in 1968, the club currently acts as the "High-A" affiliate for the Boston Red Sox and has seen a number of star MLB players pass through its system, including Matt Holliday, Larry Walker and Tim Wakefield. The team hosts its home games at Lewis-Gale Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark in Salem, Virginia.
