David Hasselhoff is an American actor, singer and television personality who is probably best remembered for his role as Michael Knight in the 1980s TV show Knight Rider as well as for his portrayal of Los Angeles County lifeguard Mitch Buchannon on the iconic American show Baywatch. Launching a pop music career, that culminated in a memorable performance at the Berlin Wall on New Year's Eve 1989, Hasselhoff experienced momentary success in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a singer in German-speaking countries in Europe. Hasselhoff has since maintained pop culture relevancy by appearing on several televised talent shows including appearances as a judge on America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent as well as a competitor--and the first celebrity eliminated--on the eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars in 2010.
