Before Roland Kaiser became one of Germany's best-selling crooners, he worked as a marketing executive for a car firm. Though Kaiser treated singing as a mere hobby, he was discovered by a German record producer who offered to help record some of his songs. After releasing his first single in 1974, he established his throwback style and became a breath of fresh air for music listeners tired of over-saturated pop vocal stylings.
