Christer Sjögren is a Swedish singer/songwriter who first rose to fame in the late 1970s as lead singer of the popular Scandinavian pop band Vikingara. Performing a style of traditional Swedish music referred to as "dansband," Sjögren has become one of the more recognizable voices of the genre over his decades long career. Launching his solo career in 1980 with his debut album, Andliga sånger, Sjögren tours frequently and is looked at as an elder statesman of the Swedish music community.
