Tracy Chapman is an American singer/songwriter who is possibly best known for her singles "Fast Car" and "Give Me One Reason," released in 1988 and 1996, respectively. Though she is often credited as a folk musician, Chapman's music is extremely pop centric and begs for comparison to other predominant female musicians of the '90s like Sarah McLachlan, Joan Osbourne and Jewel.
