N.E.C. Nijmegen

N.E.C. is an acronym for Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie, which roughly translates to Nijmegen Unity Combination in English. The team comes from the town of Nijmegen and though it has never won any titles in the country after its foundation in 1900, it still is considered one of the oldest teams in the Netherlands. N.E.C. plays at the Goffertstadion which holds a capacity of 12,500 and it has always been known as one of the ‘working class’ clubs as opposed to those founded by wealthy businessmen and/or companies.
