Singer-model Rina Sawayama has gone from strength to strength following her debut as a solo artist in 2013 with the release of the single "Sleeping in Waking." Born in Niigata, Japan, Sawayama moved to the United Kingdom with her family when she was just five years old. Quickly establishing herself as a pop sensation, Sawayama deftly embraces the more avant garde side of pop, while showcasing a similar ease with more R&B heavy numbers. Her debut EP Rina dropped in 2017 and her first full-length album Sawayama was released in 2020. Apart from a successful music career, Sawayama has also been featured in a number of modeling campaigns.
