One of the important composers greatly influencing Baroque Music was the organist from Germany, Johann Pachelbel. Popularly Known for his iconic work Canon in D major, written for three violins and continuo. Chaconne in F minor, the Toccata in E minor were some of his other noteworthy works to mention the least. The gifted organist and harpsichordist composed sacred and secular music which was regarded stylistically more contrapunctual, underlining the melodic and harmonic clarity in his works. Pachelbel's music gained him popularity all through his lifetime and was responsible for greatly influencing the Protestant church music. It also became a model for the composers of south and central Germany influencing many of his pupils including the compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach.
