Versengold is a German folk-rock band whose music is a heady mix of poetry, folk traditions and virtuoso instrumentals. The band formed in 2003 and has since released a number of albums that have garnered significant accolades from fans and critics alike. The album Funkenflug in particular topped the charts at number two in Germany upon its release in 2017. Laying as much emphasis on lyrics as on the music, Versengold has distinguished itself by producing both dance-able hits and more thoughtful, melodic pieces.
