The Turkish rock band She Past Away was formed in 2006 by vocalist-guitarist Volkan Caner and bassist Akbulut. It soon made a name for itself in the dark wave and post-punk scene with its gothic image. It debuted with the 2010 EP Kasvetli Kutlama, which was released on the record label Remoov. This was followed by the release of the albums Belirdi Gece and Narin Yalnızlık. The latter became Akbulut's last release with the band before he quit in 2015. Doruk Öztürkcan, who had previously been a producer with the group, was asked to be a part and he joined as the keyboardist in 2015. The band's third album Disko Anksiyete was released in May 2019.
