Austin hip-hop collective Blacklisted Individuals is comprised of a loose group of musicians and producers centered around two emcees Snyp and Da'Shade. With positive messages that discuss the plight of the common man as well as decry the exploitation of individuals living in the margins of society, Blacklisted Individuals creates what it calls "Working Class Muzik." The group also incorporates diverse world influences into its hip-hop, but still manages to produce hard-hitting tracks with enough commercial appeal to garner Blacklisted Individuals opening spots for acts like Snoop Dogg, The Game and Talib Kweli. Releasing its first album in 2001, the group has quickly grown to be a huge presence on the underground hip-hop scene.
