Brooklyn four-piece Body Language prides itself on standing apart from the typical Williamsburg band that induces what it calls "the brick wall arm crossing and the casual head nods" at live shows. Instead, the mellow dance pop group melds hazy house with soulful vocals in a manner that encourages audience movement--complacent swaying at the very least. As the band doesn't blend in with the countless lo-fi and dream pop bands coming out of its home city. Body Language has gained exposure by opening for fairly big acts looking for something different, like Zero 7, La Roux and School of Seven Bells.
