Formed in 2008 in Leigh, Greater Manchester, the band The Lottery Winners perform indie-pop inspired by the Britpop era. It was formed by Thom Rylance, Robert Lally, Katie Lloyd and Joe Singleton, who were brought together due to their mutual love for the band the Smiths. The Lottery Winner's debut single "Elizabeth" dropped in 2013 and the next couple of years saw the release of many more singles such as "Young Love," "Hawaii" and "21," to name a few. The year 2020 saw the release of the band's self-titled debut album The Lottery Winners, which peaked at number 23 on UK charts.
