Born in Guadalajara, Mexico to a family heavily involved in the Latin entertainment industry--her father was a director and her mother a screenwriter--Ximena Sarinana naturally pursued a career in entertainment at a young age. Initially seeking to be an actress, Sarinana was starring in telenovelas by the age of 11, went on to play a few parts in in her parents' films, then decided to pursue a musical career. The singer/songwriter released her first album in 2008, receiving positive acclaim for her Spanish piano ballads that sound like a modern Latin version of 1940s jazz divas.
