The count appears to her under several disguises, not wanting his wealth to influence her feelings. With the help of Figaro, a former servant, Count Almaviva schemes to see Rosina, barely escaping the jealous gaze of her guardian. The ensuing madness plays out with masterful scoring, making this opera a classic that is still widely performed to this day.
