All Tiny Creatures is a Madison, Wisconsin-based band featuring Thomas Wineck, who previously collaborated with indie-folk favorite Justin Vernon in the band, Volcano Choir. Wineck takes the experimental nature of that group and expands it to a full palette of loop-heavy tracks laden with both live instrumentation and programmed bells and whistles. The band's debut LP, Harbors, was recorded by its members individually playing dozens of looped song portions and then democratically choosing how to layer and interweave the bits and pieces together to form finished tracks. The result is a sound reminiscent of modern experimental indie rock coupled with the hypnotic groove of 1970s krautrock.
