The Caribbean is an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 2011, the band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist David Longstreth, bassist Nat Baldwin, and drummer Mike Johnson. The Caribbean's music is a unique blend of indie rock, folk, and experimental music, with a focus on intricate arrangements and intricate melodies. The Caribbean has released four studio albums to date, including their debut album, Discontinued Perfume (2012), which was met with critical acclaim. Their follow-up album, Plastic Explosives (2014), was also well-received, and featured the single "The Sun is Out". The band's third album, The Bedroom Tapes (2016), was their most successful to date, reaching the top 10 of the US Indie chart. Their most recent album, The Deep End (2018), was praised for its ambitious and expansive sound. The Caribbean has toured extensively throughout the US and Europe, and has performed at festivals such as SXSW, Primavera Sound, and End of the Road. They have also collaborated with a number of notable artists, including Sufjan Stevens, Dirty Projectors, and The National. With their unique sound and captivating live performances, The Caribbean have established themselves as one of the most exciting indie rock bands of the past decade.
